The Alamance-Burlington School System announced March 15 that there will be no school on Monday, March 16, due to the anticipated severe weather and strong winds.
Athletics and after-school activities are also cancelled.
The National Weather Service predicts a 15-29% probability of tornadoes and a 60-74% chance of widespread damaging winds. Wind speeds are expected to peak around 2 p.m. and continue throughout the afternoon.
The next information from the National Weather Service regarding the upcoming storm will be released at 6 a.m. on March 16.
