Republican John M. Tyson is one of two candidates for North Carolina Court of Appeals Judge Seat 10. As the incumbent in this race, he has served on the North Carolina Court of Appeals since 2014 and also serves as vice chair of the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission.

Tyson is running against Democrat Gale Adams for the seat.

According to his website, Tyson is a member of the North Carolina Republican Hall of Fame.

“Judge Tyson maintains a conservative judicial philosophy that protects individual freedoms, self-defense, private property, parental and rights of the unborn and the separation of powers where the legislature makes policy,” his campaign website said.

Tyson did not respond to Elon News Network’s multiple requests for comment.
