Updated Jan. 14, 2020 at 10:50 p.m. — The partnership between Acorn Coffee Shop and San Giuseppe Salami Company has been delayed until fall 2021, according to Elon Dining.

Acorn Coffee Shop’s sandwich menu will be changing to include San Giuseppe Salami Company this coming semester, according to Elon Dining.

“We are really still in the early stages of planning our new sandwich menu with San Giuseppe, but we are planning on making sure that all of our guests can find a mix of favorites and exciting new sandwiches to try,” Casey Claflin, guest experience manager for Elon Dining said.

Acorn Coffee Shop’s coffee, breakfast and pastries will remain the same, as well as the vegan and vegetarian options. Students will also be able to purchase retail of San Giuseppe’s meats and cheeses.

Claflin said one of the main reasons why Elon Dining chose to do the partnership is because San Giuseppe’s is a local company. The San Giuseppe Salami Company factory is located in Elon four miles north of campus.

“As a family-run company based in the Town of Elon, we could not be more excited to continue to grow our relationship as a local vendor with Elon University. We couldn’t dream up a better partnership,” sales and marketing manager for San Giuseppe Salami Company Alex Hale’19 said in an email to Elon News Network.

The sandwich menu will be finalized within the next couple of weeks. The new sandwich menu is scheduled to switch over next semester.
