On Tuesday night, Elon Local News was set to premiere "The Threads of Burlington," an all encompassing, student look at the city of Burlington, N.C., and the people who call it home.
We at Elon Local News realize we failed our audience. We did not live up to our promise to tell the stories of the great people we met in this city. We premiered a documentary that was simply not ready to be shown. This was not up to the professional standards set by Elon Local News, and for that we apologize.
We want to thank all the people that came out to the premiere and were disappointed. We were disappointed, too, and are going to work harder than ever to make sure we tell the stories of the Burlington community with the dignity they deserve.
Elon Local News will present "The Threads of Burlington," online and in full, when it is ready, and only when it is ready. An announcement will come when it is completed.
Our goal was and is to make a film that represents the vibrant city and generous people we were fortunate enough to meet. Thank you for your patience.
