Members of the Elon Community are remembering Darlene Boggs, an environmental services custodian, who died Sunday, July 20.
Boggs worked for Elon for nearly eight years. Most recently she worked in the Loy Center and Whitley Auditorium.
Dave Worden, director of environmental services at Elon, told E-Net that Boggs was a "very dedicated employee."
"She cared. That's it in a nutshell," Worden told E-Net. "She cared about what she was doing. She cared that she was taking care of students."
According to E-Net, a memorial service, led by University Chaplain Jan Fuller, will be held at Rich and Thompson Chapel located at 207 East Elm Street in Graham at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 26th.
Boggs' husband has requested that donations be made to Hospice in lieu of flowers.
