While we might not be on the beach yet, spring break is only a few days away. Here are a few tips on how to make last minute preparations for your vacation, and how you can stay fit over break.
- Use a fast-acting self tanner
If you want to have some color before you hit the beach, do not go to a tanning bed. Try a fast acting self tanner instead to keep your skin safe. Make a homemade exfoliator made from coconut oil and sugar cane. It will leave your skin soft and fresh. Then apply your self tanner mixed with lotion to avoid streaking
2. Sunscreen is a must
Don't forget to pack sunscreen! The most important thing to remember is to apply sunscreen on the first day that you will be in the sun. This will give you a solid base tan to work with. If you don't then you will just end up frying your skin and it will peel. Use a daily moisturizer with sunscreen already in it so you don't forget to protect your face and continue to re-apply sunscreen throughout the day.
You've worked so hard to get that body ready for a bikini, but how to you keep all of your hard work from going to waste over break
3. Workout in the morning
Get your workouts in in the morning before everyone wakes up. Then, you will have the rest of the day to enjoy being with friends! Go for a run on the beach and drag your friend along. Or, hold a group session of beach yoga. Everyone will be jealous of your dedication!
Drink more water than you think you need to! Dehydration can lead to unnecessary hunger and drinking plenty of water will help cleanse your system of any toxins you put in. For every adult beverage that you drink, follow it with an 8-ounce glass of water.
5. Get Swimming
Get up out of your beach chair and get in the water. Whether you're sun bathing on the beach or hanging by the pool, make a pact with yourself to always go swimming. Commit yourself to swimming for at least 20 minutes even if the ocean is chilly. If the water is cold you will actually burn more calories as you're body fights to stay warm.
