The snowy weather may have closed school for students, but Elon's groundskeepers work extra hard to keep campus looking colorfully filled with flowers as the spring months quickly approach.

Soon students, parents, faculty and staff will gather "Under the Oaks" for graduation and the landscaping team is working their hardest to keep the 30,000 pansies Elon has looking beautiful.

"You know the term 'pansy' is like a wuss, but actually the pansy is a pretty tough flower," said groundskeeper Frank Clapp.

Although students had many snowball fights and snowmen building competitions last week, the pansies will hopefully be able to survive.

Clapp said that pansies should retain their durability and the snow should cause the flowers significant harm.
