Here’s a line you thought you’d never hear.

“Grounder to short. Facebook throws on to Obama and the innings is over.”

With Halloween upon us, the San Diego State University baseball team hosted their third annual Halloween game Sunday, Oct. 27. This is one halloween tradition done very right.

Everyone on the team got in the act, including the coaches. The fan-favorite costume went to the Jamacian bobsled team. Driver C.J. Saylor hit a liner to center that dropped in during the game, but the four-man crew was thrown out at first.

Other hits on the field were Native American Jacob Erickson, who pitched in the game, and Brandon Thomas playing as Samuel L. Jackson.

Sailor Aaron Cross was seated next to clown Orlando Meza behind the plate and pitching coach John Pawlowski dressed as a hippie.

Anything I write here will never do justice to what Kirk Kenney, a San Diego State Sports Information Director, wrote after the game.

Here’s just a preview:

“The Black Team came back with three runs in the bottom of the second. President Obama Seby Zavala got it started with a single, Ninja Cody Sos doubled, Leprechaun Andrew Brown bunt for a single and Redneck Spencer Thornton sacrificed the runners over. Boxer Tyler Adkinson capped the inning with an RBI single. Cheerleader Justin Gheorghe skied to center to end the inning.”
My personal favorite line comes 3/4 of the way down:
Andrew Schultz wore an orange prison jumpsuit, obviously hoping for a breakout season.

Hey Coach Kennedy, can this come to Latham Park this week?
