At Thursday night’s SGA Senate meeting, the newly appointed senators were sworn in. Both those voted in by their peers and those appointed by SGA Executive President Welsford Bishopric assumed their new roles. The Senate also discussed the possibility of amending and updating the SGA constitution.
According to Bishopric, the constitution doesn’t change very often. He called for volunteers to serve on an ad-hoc committee that will meet in the coming weeks to propose constitutional changes.
“This is your opportunity to fundamentally change the way SGA works at Elon for a long time,” Bishopric said.
The Senate will convene next week to further discuss the possible changes.
