Ostrich Farm

Matt Lee and I took a cruise down U.S. 87 on Friday afternoon and wound up at Perkin's Ostrich Farm, just 30 minutes away from Elon, NC. We spent the day with the ostriches and farm owner Jake Perkins, 89.

Snowflakes for Sandy Hook

Making snowflakes is an activity children do every year, but on Saturday, January 5th the children in Graham were designing snowflakes for a cause. "We're going to send them to the kids in Connecticut to the Sandy Hook Elementary School," explained nine-year-old Delilah Bose. In response to the Connecticut PTA's nationwide call for the victims of Sandy Hook, Susan Holland organized this event. "The children should walk into a winter wonderland," Holland vividly explained, "the idea that each snowflake is different from one another, there are no two alike.

Zombie Walk Spooks Elon Community

La Cocina and Yo-Zone attract many customers to Burlington's Holly Hill Mall but this weekend, a different kind of event was luring in a large, diverse group of people. The second annual Zombie Walk for charity took place on Saturday, October 27th and some even rose from the dead to support the cause.
