Updated May 2, 2019 – The charges have been expunged from the student's record after he completed North Carolina's First Offender's Program. The case was dismissed upon his completion. 

An Elon University freshman was arrested Sunday, May 14 for resisting arrest after he was spotted urinating on the side of the road. 

According to the Town of Elon Police Department, the student was urinating in plain view of West Haggard Avenue early Sunday morning when Officer Connor Rice attempted to make contact with him.

The student ran from the officer into a barn behind the residence where a party was taking place, but was found and arrested.

The student was taken to Alamance Country Jail where he posted $500 bond. His court date is set for Aug.14.
