In case you’ve been away from the Internet for an extended period of time, this week’s buzz is all about the 2015 Video Music Awards (VMAs). As soon as the nominees were announced Tuesday morning, Twitter blew up. Aside from the Nicki-Taylor feud that ensued, the most exciting news came from none other than Miley Cyrus — but really, who's surprised?

Miley will be hosting this year’s awards show — just two years after her wildly memorable performance with Robin Thicke. The 2013 stunt was filled with inappropriate twerking and barely-there clothing, but MTV knows the free-spirited Cyrus is sure to bring viewers with her.

If you have the patience to still be following Miley on Instagram, you were the first to hear the announcement. In typical Miley fashion, she posted side-by-side photos of herself in a green, full-body alien costume with signs reading “MTV won’t let me perform, so I’m hosting this year’s VMAs.” The cherry on top was, of course, her caption: “F**K yeah VMAs!!!!” Tune in to MTV at 9 p.m. August 30 to watch what is sure to be an interesting show.
