The Elon University women’s track and field team released their schedule for the 2015 season yesterday, Dec. 17.

The schedule includes 19 indoor and outdoor meets and will debut Elon’s first outdoor track meet in eight years with the opening of the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex.

Elon will open up the season in Winston Salem, North Carolina for the Wake Forest Invitational that will take place on Jan. 10 followed by a trip to Lynchberg, Virginia for the Liberty Open on Jan. 16-17. After the Liberty Open, the Phoenix will travel 100 miles east to Blacksburg, Virginia for the Hokie Invite hosted by Virginia Tech.

Elon will begin its February slate with a trip to East Tennessee State for the ETSU Track and Field Invite on Feb. 6-8. In the following week, a select few of the team will participate for the Tyson Indoor Invite at the University of Arkansas (Feb. 13-14) before closing out the month with a return to Blacksburg for the Virginia Tech Challenge on Feb. 20-21.

As a result of the Colonial Athletic Association not sponsoring track and field, Elon will participate in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Indoor Championship Meet at the start of March in Boston, Massachusetts. The NCAA Indoor Championship takes place not long after on Mar. 14-15 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The Phoenix will open up their outdoor schedule at the Coastal Carolina Invitational (Mar. 13-14) before travelling to NC State University for the Raleigh Relays event (Mar. 27-28).

At the start of April, Elon will participate in two meets at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational (Apr. 3-4) and the Duke Invitational (Apr. 11) before hosting an event of its own at the Phoenix Invitational on Apr. 18.

Elon will then send a select few of its team to the Penn Relays on Apr. 23-25 prior to the CAA Outdoor Championships (May 1-2) in Williamsburg, Virginia. The Phoenix will close out their 2015 schedule with meets at the Duke Twilight (May 6-7) and the Wolfpack Last Chance (May 16-17)

The NCAA East Preliminaries will take place in Jacksonville, Florida on May 28-30 and the NCAA Outdoor Championships will be June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon.
