Elon University will play its first women's basketball game in the Colonial Athletic Association Jan. 4 at the University of Delaware, as the league announced its conference slate Tuesday afternoon.

The Phoenix will play its first CAA contest in Alumni Gym Jan. 6, when Drexel University comes to town.

Elon will play each CAA school both at home and on the road during the course of the season.

Under head coach Charlotte Smith, Elon went 15-16 last year and 10-8 in the Southern Conference. The Phoenix lost to eventual champion the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the semifinals of the SoCon Tournament.

Elon will open its 2014/2015 campaign at home Nov. 14 against Division-II Anderson University. In other confirmed nonconference games, the Phoenix will play the Naval Academy, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, North Carolina State University, High Point University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Furman University.
