Curling's popularity grows in North Carolina

The Winter Olympics may have wrapped up in Sochi recently, but one of its sports is still going strong in the local area. Curling became a Winter Olympic sport in 1998 and continues to grow in popularity around the United States. The winter sport involves two teams of four sliding a stone across the ice into four concentric rings.

Elon women's track runs despite chilly weather

When 20-degree weather strikes, most people prefer to stay inside. But five days a week, the Elon women's track team is out running regardless of the weather. To senior Allyson Oram, a member of the track team for four years, this commitment to training is nothing out of the ordinary. "I've done workouts in the pouring rain," she said. Three days a week, the team runs six to eight miles, and they spend the other two days working out on the track.

Koch, Troutman on Davidson, UMass: 'It's our turn' to be the face of SoCon

The Elon University Men's Basketball team is on the road tonight to face Davidson in the last matchup between the two schools while in the Southern Conference. Elon will leave the SoCon next season for the Colonial Athletic Conference and Davidson will move to the Atlantic 10 Conference. Elon Loses to Duke 86-48 in New Year's Eve Matchup

Though Elon came to the Greensboro Coliseum hoping to celebrate an end-of-year win, the Phoenix lost to the Duke Blue Devils with a final score of 86-48. Elon started the game with Lucas Troutman winning the tip-off and giving Elon the first possession, and senior Sebastian Koch followed up by scoring the first two points for Elon at 17:40.
