Former Mayor Pete Buttigieg addresses Iowans

Presidential hopeful, Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, spoke to roughly 300 people in attendance about the issues of climate change, economic instability and gun control, among other topics. Many of Buttigieg’s talking points were related to President Donald Trump.

Cory Booker suspends his presidential campaign

Cory Booker has suspended his campaign for president. The New Jersey senator was struggling to fundraise and gain traction in both state and national polls. Booker’s decision comes after he failed to qualify for the CNN/ Des Moines Register debate on Tuesday.

Vote Common Good, an organization promoting liberal activism during the 2020 election cycle will be taking its message across all 50 states and is looking to give a voice to college students. VCG Political Director Rob Ryerse said this is the type of outlet certain students are looking for.

SGA adds National Pan-Hellenic Senator position this fall

This fall, the Student Government Association added a National Pan-Hellenic Council senator position, which was filled by senior Arianne Payne. This position was added in the hope of better representing the interests of historically black sororities and fraternities at Elon University.

The search for a town manager

A seven-month search is coming to a close in the town of Elon for its next town manager. The Board of Aldermen has offered the town manager position to one of the two final candidates.
