ASCH: The issue not enough Americans talk about

After the Civil War, the U.S. passed the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments to ensure rights to former slaves. The 15th Amendment gave them the right to vote, stating, “the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.”

Summers enters the winter of his Elon career

It’s the end of the Elon football journey for senior running back Malcolm Summers. The senior announced on Twitter Thursday night. After not playing the previous two games for the Phoenix, and speculation swirling on when, or if, the deep back would return; Summers closed the book officially on his career two days before Elon’s game against the University of Rhode Island.

Voting is a key part of our democracy. According to the Pew Research Center, college students are historically less likely to participate in midterm elections even though we make up a majority of voters. But who is to say that voter turnout will be different this year?

Elon University’s football team clocked in at No. 5 (5-2, 3-1) in the first, and only top-10 ranking the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee will release until the final playoff bracket becomes available at the end of the season.

Elon homecoming court nominees announced

This year, Elon University’s Homecoming will be celebrated with a diverse Homecoming Court of seniors, each as unique as they are committed to their cause. A group of 20 students — five males and 12 females — have been nominated to represent their organizations, class and Elon as a whole as members of the court.
