Almost anywhere you go on campus, you see Campus Police or Campus Security cars. At times, it can be intimidating to have a police presence in residential areas but this year, Elon Campus Police wants to change their relationship with students.
Update: As of 5 p.m. Thursday Sept. 4, Oaks E residents were allowed back into their apartments. For the three apartments that were water damaged during the lightning strike, Director of Elon Residence Life Elaine Turner said in an email that the university is working with those residents to find temporary housing. Turner also said that Campus Safety and Police would have the building under a 24 hour watch tonight.

Power has returned to all areas of campus after students were left in the dark for nearly two hours Wednesday night, according to University Communications.
As ice hits the Triad area, Elon University has canceled classes for Friday. Ice weighed down tree branches to breaking point, knocked out power to several areas on campus and off, and made driving conditions much more perilous.
