The latest Elon University Poll released Tuesday shows Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton edging Republican nominee Donald Trump by nearly six percentage points in North Carolina, while Democrat Roy Cooper is edging Republican Pat McCrory 48 percent to 44 percent in the governor’s race. The poll also asked potential voters about the treatments of African-Americans by police in light of the recent protests in Charlotte over the killing of Keith Lamont Scott last month.

After an Alabama pipeline rupture, gas prices across the Deep South have increased and caused a frenzy at the pump. Currently, Kangaroo gas station near Elon University is out of regular gas, and premium gas has been raised to $2.37 per gallon. Multiple other gas stations have been closed throughout the area, including the Shell on S. Williamson Ave.. Half of the pumps are closed the Citgo on Haggard Ave. The cheapest gas is at the at the Citgo on S. Williamson. Ave. with regular gas costing $2.19.
