Ten seniors are vying to be crowned royalty on the Homecoming Court during the third quarter of the Homecoming football game. Students can vote for two candidates on Phoenix Connect until 5 p.m. on Nov. 4.

The third day of Greek Week was Philanthropy Day, and members of the fraternity and sorority community selected Habitat for Humanity as the week’s philanthropy.
Hosted by the Truitt Center and co-sponsored by EMPRESS and the Surtal Bollywood dance team, the Diwali celebration at Elon University included henna, food, a dance performance by the Surtal and sparklers.
Oct. 24 marked the beginning of Elon University’s first Greek Week since the 2018-19 academic year. Through Oct. 28, 16 greek organizations will participate in contests and fundraising efforts as a way to unify the greek community. This year’s theme is “back and better than ever.”
Nov. 8 is Election Day and early voting began Oct. 20. Along with information on who’s running, where to vote and what times, linked, are also profiles on all candidates that will be on the ballot in Alamance County.

Elon University students, faculty and staff enjoyed a campus tradition Sept. 28.
Hispanic Heritage Week was first implemented in 1968 by former U.S. President Lyndon Johnson to celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens with ancestors who came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South American. Twenty years later, the week expanded to a full 30 day period from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.

Connie Book is Elon University’s ninth president. Previously, she was a faculty member for 16 years. Book became university president four years ago in 2018. As university president, Book has focused on launching the 10-year Boldly Elon strategic plan and Elon LEADS campaign. Her office is located in the Powell Building. She is often spotted around campus, such as on a walk or at College Coffee.
