When a student orders food on Elon Dining’s mobile app from any of the nine on-campus vendors, they might notice a number indicating how long it would take for it to be ready. These can range from four minutes to over 250 minutes.

This year has been beyond wonderful for historical dramas. Amazingly, two of this year’s most acclaimed films are not only dramatic retellings of historical events but are created by two of the most prolific directors of all time. While Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” may have beaten Martin Scorcese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” at the box office, “Flower Moon” towers over Oppy as a masterclass in storytelling and directorial achievement.

The trailers for “Cocaine Bear” say all you need to know about the film. A bear does cocaine, causing all hell to break loose. That’s all it is, and that’s all it needs to be.

When I first watched this film, I was horrified. For around half of it, I watched “Skinamarink” (2022) through my fingers and from behind my girlfriend’s shoulder for another quarter of it. The last 20 minutes of the film were excruciating. I practically begged for it to end as horrific images and sounds assaulted my senses.

Remember, if you can, what the holidays used to be like in school when you were young. Teachers took the time to make the season feel special. For me, they gave us apple cider, and we made paper chains and snowflakes to decorate the classroom.

Unknowingly, I’ve been following the director of “Barbarian,” Zach Cregger, for a while. Part of the comedy troupe “The Whitest Kids U’ Know” in the early 2000s, Cregger worked with the late Trevor Moore and other comedians on a sketch comedy show airing on IFC.

In general, the idea of a show based around Obi-Wan is perplexing.

I grew up with Sonic the Hedgehog. When I was little, my brother played Sonic constantly — my first memories involve the opening cutscene of “Sonic Heroes,” with my brother playing various levels of “Sonic Adventure 2: Battle,” and me, trying my hand at the Tails-Eggman mech battle and failing gloriously at the meager age of three years old. On Saturday mornings, the local over-the-air station played episodes of “Sonic X.” My first handheld console, the Gameboy Advance, was handed down to me by my brother, and I distinctly remember almost beating “Sonic Advance 3” during the 9th inning of a minor-league baseball game.

When the credits rolled on my first viewing of “The Batman,” I wasn’t sure how to feel. It was unfocused, lengthy and unevenly paced, but also beautiful, intriguing, exhilarating and wonderfully disturbing. “The Batman” had its problems, but it also had a lot going for it. After letting the film sit, I craved it. Scenes were etched in my mind for a few days, and I decided I had to see it again.
