Traveling to Elon, North Carolina was normal for Kenny Mallory Jr. when he was growing up. The current Elon sophomore always returned to campus with his parents, as they were supportive alumni of the university who attend homecomings and athletic events.

Former Elon University quarterback Matthew McKay, who graduated in December 2022, has become the second 2022 Phoenix player to receive a rookie camp invitation from an NFL team. After kicker Skyler Davis earned an invite from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, McKay earned a similar invite to the Dallas Cowboys rookie camp.

Former Elon University kicker Skyler Davis, who graduated in December 2022, has been given a camp invitation from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, Davis will have a chance to compete for a spot on the roster at rookie football development programs which are set to start May 15.

After being no-hit by Duke University yesterday, the Elon University softball team took to the field at Hunt Softball Park with a newfound fire underneath them. The Phoenix wasted no time getting the lead and shut out the North Carolina Central Eagles 8-0 in five innings.

After an eight-match win streak, the Elon University women’s tennis team returned home for the first time since March 11 to face Colonial Athletic Association opponent the University of Delaware Blue Hens. The Phoenix suffered its first loss at home, snapping the winning streak after a 4-2 battle.

Going for the series sweep and the eighth straight Colonial Athletic Association victory, the Elon University baseball team showed out strong, shutting out the Delaware Blue Hens 1-0. But the best part came after, when the team stayed to stand up in the fight against pediatric cancer, auctioning off haircuts to raise $7,738 for Vs. Cancer.

After being shutout 2-0 to start the doubleheader against Towson University, sophomore left fielder Kaitlyn Wells stepped up to bat for the Elon University softball team, who was down 3-1 to begin the bottom of the second inning. Four pitches later, she launched a home run, scoring freshman designated player Mauri Murray and tying the game 3-3.

After the final sound of the buzzer March 2, the Elon University women’s basketball team earned one more home victory and walked off the court at Schar Center for the last time in the 2022-23 season. Five players, including graduate student guard Lenaejha Evans and graduate student center Evonna McGill, walked off the court for their final time in maroon and gold.
