Final exams are quickly approaching at Elon University, and Belk Library is bracing itself for a barrage of students who will be living there in every available study spot. The lack of space and solitude for an individual to study in peace can be rather irritating. There is a need for quiet studying spots, and Elon University has several available outside of the cramped confines of the library.

Upperclassmen will be moving into the Park Place at Elon University, the new apartments under construction next to Skid’s Restaurant on Haggard Avenue, in August. The complex will be four stories tall, and will feature ground floor retail space, outdoor restaurant dining areas on the sidewalk and 45 apartments.

The Inter-Residence Council (IRC) and SPARKS held an
educational trivia night Thursday at Elon University about sexual
awareness. Instead of IRC’s normal bingo nights, it decided to participate in
Sexual Assault Awareness month by informing students about sexual health
through trivia questions and prizes.

Robert F. Darden visited Elon University on April18 to speak about the progression and history of gospel music. The full-time professor from Baylor University in Texas spoke to a room of students and faculty members in LaRose Digital Theatre. Phi Beta Kappa sponsored the event before its induction ceremony would commence later at night.

The Elon Community Church’s 125th anniversary will be this Tuesday April 19, and it celebrated this milestone at its 10:30 am worship service the Sunday before. This United Church of Christ (UCC) was chartered in 1891, a few years after Elon College's founding.

At each of the four blood drives that I have attempted to
donate blood at, there has been a unique issue each time preventing me from accomplishing
this task. For some reason, my body is just completely against cooperating with
me when I want to help save up to three lives per donation for American Red Cross. Maybe if I had
followed more of the tips to prepare myself for donating blood that Red Cross
provides, I could have saved up to twelve lives and enjoyed some delicious
snacks after.
