Faculty prove more in touch with tablets than younger generation

While the public meets Apple’s product announcements with a huge amount of excitement, few students at Elon University seem to care about the new iPad’s launch last Friday. Tablets such as the iPad allow for more possibilities in schools: e-textbooks, productivity and note-taking, interactive learning apps. “What I like about them is the instant on and the battery life,” said Scott Hildebrand, assistant director of Teaching and Learning Technologies.

DJ Tippy Kat climbs to Internet success with mashups

The brain-damaged kitten from Washington, D.C. that couldn’t walk straight probably never expected to become the name of an aspiring Elon University student disc jockey. Sophomore Jay Cutler, also known as mash-up artist DJ Tippy Kat, saw this kitten in an alumnus’ apartment while at a club swim team meet in D.C.

From Happy Valley to Silicon Valley

A group of entrepreneurs hope to integrate students' lives inside and outside of the classroom all on one mobile application, aptly called OneSchool. The Elon University edition of OneSchool is now available and contains BioBus route information, building and food locations and a chat room.
