Britain Remembers Margaret Thatcher

Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher died Monday at the age of 87 following a stroke. Thatcher was the first and only woman prime minister of the United Kingdom and led Britain from 1979 to 1990. Many referred to Thatcher as "The Iron Lady" for her personal and political conviction. [div class="alignright"] [/div] Current British Prime Minister David Cameron expressed his sorrow on Twitter stating "We have lost a great leader, a great Prime Minister, and a great Briton." Thatcher visited Elon University back in 1995 when the school called Elon College.

A Saturday night for one 21-year-old male ended with an unexpected trip to the hospital. According to Elon Town Police, Tyler Faucett of Mebane, who is not an Elon student, was robbed and assaulted on West Haggard Ave.

Seeing Himself Through His Music

Freshman Shane Dittmar has a passion for singing and playing piano, and he has also been blind since birth. The 18-year-old singer and piano-player was born with "Leber's Congenital Amaurosis," a disease that left both him and his twin brother blind since they were born. "We were born blind, mostly blind, not completely blind," Dittmar said. Growing up his eyesight never changed, and neither did his love for music.
