Elon University women’s hoops will tip-off their season against the University of North Carolina Tar Heels at the newly constructed Schar Center arena. The Lady Phoenix will play three days prior to the men's basketball team, who will also face UNC at home.
The First-team All-Colonial Athletic Association honoree signed a contract to play professional volleyball with Nurmon Jymy, a team based in Seinajoki, Finland, this past Friday.

Elon University welcomed 573 high school students for Fellows Weekend to complete the selection process of the six challenging fellowship programs offered at Elon. The finalists were selected by faculty committees and were invited to Elon to fully immerse themselves on campus.

Junior and basketball player Tyler Seibring said he was humbled to hear his article, “Just for the Record: The Chronicles of a Mid-Major Basketball Player,” reached so many people in the Elon University community and landed on the desk of none other than President Leo Lambert. Accumulating over 30 retweets and close to 100 likes on Twitter, the article gave readers the chance to briefly step into Seibring’s rather large shoes and learn more about his life as a semi-recognized athlete.
“We’ve got a couple good freshman in our lineup,” seven year veteran head coach Kathy Bocock said. “We are excited for them.” After a 49er run tied the game again, a Charlotte RBI double and a couple of wild pitches from Elon closing pitcher Kenna Quinn allowed two runners to score, the 49ers were able to put away the Phoenix by a 2-5 margin.
A familiar bearded face on Elon University's campus is stepping down at the beginning of next month. Adam Constantine '10, social media manager for Elon University, announced he has accepted a job as a social media specialist for Movement Mortgage, a home mortgage bank in Charlotte. He has been the social media manager at Elon since 2015.
It was a beautiful morning on South Campus as the Elon University cross country program hosted the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) cross country championships Saturday morning.
