Baylor Rodman

Baylor Rodman '22 is studying Broadcast Journalism and Political Science at Elon University. Rodman serves as News Director of Elon Local News, the broadcast affiliate to Elon News Network. He manages three broadcast shows weekly and continues to serve as a co-anchor of their morning broadcast ELN Morning. In 2020, he received the second place RTDNAC Award for Best Student News Producing. Prior to that, Rodman played a prominent role across ENN's 2018 Midterm Election coverage, serving on the decision desk and in ENN's Democracy 2020 coverage, covering the Republican and Democratic Primary on the ground at the Iowa Caucuses, rallies across North Carolina and back in studio co-anchoring special Super Tuesday and Election Night in America broadcasts. When he's not reporting, Rodman enjoys fishing, relaxing on the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

The transaction, unanimously approved by the Twitter Board of Directors, is expected to close this year, subject to the approval of Twitter stockholders. Once finalized, the social platform will become a privately held company.

Millennial mayors endorse Pete Buttigieg for president

Mayor of Burlington Ian Baltutis '08 is among many millennial mayors across the nation who have endorsed former South Bend Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg for president. The group — Mayors for Pete — is actively working on the ground within their individual communities to rally support on behalf of Buttigieg. Baltutis said as mayors, they were excited to see him step up and run for national office.

From Congress to Elon's campus

Former Congressmen Peter Roskam (R-IL) and Glenn English (D-OK) visited Elon University Monday night as part of the Congress to Campus program. The visit, organized by the Stennis Center for Public Leadership and the nonprofit Former Members of Congress, was fashioned to engage with future leaders to provide a sense of what Congress is like as well as educate students on U.S. political institutions while at the same time encourage those to pursue careers in public service.
