Though the second-year head coach is always widening his focus, keeping an eye on national rankings and opposing team’s Ratings Percentage Index (RPI). “It’s really important to us and it’s always has been to the program because why would you put all your eggs into once basket in terms of just winning the conference tournament?” said head coach Chris Little.
The No. 10 Elon University men’s soccer team lost 1-0 on the road Oct. 24 to No. 24 Hofstra University in a battle of ranked Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) teams. The win for Hofstra makes it the regular season CAA champion, meaning the Pride will host the CAA semi-finals and finals later this season. With a win over or a draw against the College of Charleston in its season finale, Elon can earn a bye past the quarterfinals by finishing in the top two in the conference.

When senior forward Cooper Vandermaas-Peeler arrived on Elon University’s campus in January 2015 he wasn’t alone. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill transfer not only joined eager new teammates but also enjoyed a homecoming of sorts with close friends and family. Though, Cooper has a new role for the Phoenix.
The impending rain coming from Hurricane Joaquin has forced postponements of matches for both the Elon University men's and women's soccer teams this weekend. The next match for the women's team is 7 p.m. Monday at Francis Marion University. The men will not be in action again until 7 p.m. Oct. 10, against Lipscomb University.
