Phoenix fall one game short of conference final

The final game of coach Mike Schrage’s first season with the Phoenix saw the team start off slow after back-to-back emotional wins through the conference tournament. The Phoenix showed flashes down the stretch but 20-point efforts by graduate guard Marcus Sheffield II and freshman guard Hunter McIntosh couldn’t overcome the Huskies.

Men’s basketball stays hot, upsets William & Mary in CAA quarterfinals

After a comeback victory the previous night, Elon men’s basketball faced off against the College of William & Mary in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship quarterfinals on Sunday. The Phoenix pulled off the upset victory against the Tribe by a final score of 68-63, and advance to the CAA semifinals for the first time in the program’s history.

Men's basketball advances after epic comeback victory

Elon University men’s basketball took the court in the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Championship for the first time under head coach Mike Schrage on Saturday. One of Schrage’s recruits, graduate guard Marcus Sheffield II, helped in securing a come-from-behind, 63-61 victory against James Madison University.

McIntosh can't be stopped, men's basketball wins 70-62

The Elon University Phoenix (11-18, 8-9 CAA) faced off against rival James Madison University Dukes (9-17, 2-13 CAA) winning 70-62 on the road. This game marked just the second to last game the Dukes would play in what’s been its home court since 1982. It was also the first game of three on the road for the Phoenix, its final three games before conference tournament play. It's last away excursion proved successful for the Phoenix, winning both games away, and the momentum only continued today.

The 2020 season has been a tale of highs and lows for the Elon Men’s Basketball team (9-17). As the team turns towards its final month before the conference tournament, the Phoenix has hit a high of the season due in part to its emerging young talents.

Men's basketball gets its reason to smile on senior day

The Elon University Phoenix (10-18) defeated the Drexel Dragons (13-14) in the Phoenix final home game of the season, 75-70. The game also marked this year’s senior day, as the Phoenix honored two graduating members, Seth Fuller and Marcus Sheffield II. Fuller was part of the starting lineup for the first time this season and only the sixth time in his career.

Blue Hens end Phoenix hot streak

Elon University men's basketball (9-18, 5-9 CAA) fell to the No. 2 ranked team in the conference, the University of Delaware Blue Hens (18-7, 9-4 CAA) 81-75 on Thursday night. The Phoenix looked to continue a three-game win streak, but fell short down the stretch.

Mike Schrage took over as the new head coach for Elon University’s men’s basketball team last April — marking the beginning of a series of changes to the team, as he started recruiting new members to the Phoenix.

Elon adjunct faculty raise concerns over missing professor names on OnTrack

With the approach of spring semester’s end, students scour OnTrack to build their academic schedules, looking at the times available and selecting their preferred professors.  Senior Alex Campbell said she noticed this past semester that adjunct professors, who are hired on a contractual basis each semester or year, she previously had classes with were not appearing on OnTrack.  “It’s pretty upsetting because two of my favorite professors are adjuncts that I’ve had classes with in the past,” Campbell said. “Since the change, I can’t purposefully take classes with them because I don’t know what classes they’re even teaching because they don’t show up.”

Elon University no longer offering Google accounts to alumni

Earlier this month, Elon University sent out an email notifying all Elon employees that as of April 15, Elon will no longer offer Gmail, Google Workspace, or Google file storage to alumni not employed by the university.  Previously alumni were allowed to use their account to use the storage and stay connected to Elon.
