Junior Mandi Lichtenstein stood in front of Elon University’s Hillel discussing ways to increase antisemitism awareness. Lichtenstein, who serves as the vice president of Israel education of Hillel, had the goal of making sure the local community was educated about ways to respond to antisemitism.

Just two days after a deadly school shooting in Nashville, North Carolina legislators voted on Wednesday to repeal the state’s handgun permit requirement. The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office will also no longer issue or require handgun permits for individuals to purchase a handgun.

Junior Chloe Higgins, class of 2024 president, was appointed speaker of the senate during Elon University’s first Student Government Association meeting after elections. Higgins was nominated for the position alongside Connor Vaughn, senator of the School of Arts and Sciences. Higgins won, receiving 13 of the 16 votes.

A Manhattan grand jury voted to indict former President Donald Trump March 30. The charges are for paying hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels in his 2016 campaign, the first time a former president of the U.S. has been indicted.

Bed Bath & Beyond will close its doors to the Burlington community April 8. The store is one of five North Carolina locations to end its retail operations in the state — the other locations include Raleigh, Gastonia, Greenville and Hickory. The chain is set to close in more than 280 locations across the nation in the coming months.

Thirteen Elon senior BFA dance majors make up Motion Dance Collaborative, and for the last time, they will share the stage together, closing the curtain on their four years at the university. The production, set to run from March 31 to April 2, is called “Game Over” and consists of nine pieces total, seven of which are choreographed by students.
