The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for Alamance County and surrounding areas at 2:20 p.m. and is in effect until 8 p.m. Vice president of student life, Jon Dooley sent an email to students alerting them of the tornado watch.
A tornado watch means that weather conditions are favorable for a possible tornado.
In the event of a tornado warning, students are to seek shelter at the the designated areas below:
Academic village — first floor hallway
Carolina — first floor hallway
Colonnades — hallways
Danieley apartments — bathrooms
Danieley flats — first floor interior hallways
Global neighborhood — first floor bathrooms
Greek lodges — first floor bathrooms
HBB — interior suite first floor hallway
The Oaks — first floor hallways
Sloan — first floor hallway
Virginia — first floor hallway
West — first floor hallway
