Erica McAdoo (D) said that she has not conceded to her opponent, incumbent Stephen Ross '73 (R). With only a couple hundred votes between the two, McAdoo said she is still evaluating the option of a recount.

Absentee and provisional ballots are still coming in, which could determine the winner of the race.

The North Carolina State Board of Elections reports 50.49 percent of votes going to Ross '73 and 49.51 percent to McAdoo.

North Carolina does not have an automatic recount policy, but the margin is close enough for a candidate to call for a recount.
