Elon University has announced the speakers for the 2018-2019 school year. 

For fall convocation, Elon's ninth president, Connie Ledoux Book, will deliver her inaugural address on Oct. 18 in the new Schar Center.

On Jan. 10, 2019 attorney, professor of law and advocate for equality and civil rights, Anita Hill, will deliver the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Address. Hill became famous after testifying during Clarence Thomas' senate confirmation hearing in 1991 igniting a conversation about sexual harassment.

Former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard will speak to Elon students during Spring Convocation on April 4, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. Gillard served as prime minister from 2010 to 2013 and will speak about geopolitics and the global economy. 

Next year Elon University School of Law will also host two leaders in law including Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz on Sept. 13, and the first African-American Attorney General of the United States Loretta Lynch on Feb. 28, 2019.
