Elon University freshman Brendan Gallagher was arrested May 6 for larceny of a hot dog. Gallagher was also charged with resisting arrest and consuming alcohol under the age of 21.
According to Elon Town Police, Gallagher was eating the hot dog at Circle K, located at 110 W. Haggard Avenue, and then left the business without paying. An officer at the scene took him into custody after a brief struggle.
Gallagher was placed in the Alamance County Jail under a bond of $750.00.
