Beta Theta Pi fraternity will be the newest fraternity to join campus in the spring of 2016, according to a Facebook announcement made Friday afternoon.

According to the Facebook post from Elon's Fraternity and Sorority Life, representatives from the national office will be on Elon's campus the first week of December to provide more information to students.

Beta Theta Pi and Theta Chi were the two finalists after Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Dan Faill annouced there would be a new Interfraternity Council organization coming to campus.

Both Beta Theta Pi and Theta Chi presented for members of the Greek community in October.

For Beta Theta Pi, the tone was focused on changing the overall Greek culture and providing opportunities for all kinds of young men on campus, especially those who might have never have considered joining a fraternity.

Beta Theta Pi was founded by a group of men at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1839. Since then is has grown to include 134 current chapters and colonies.
