The Elon University softball team head coach Kathy Bocock announced its eight-game schedule for Fall 2015.
The Phoenix’s schedule consists of all in-state competition including Atlantic Coast Conference opposition North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The Phoenix will open up their slate with a home-and-home with UNC. The Tar Heels will visit the Hunt Softball Park on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. Elon will then travel to Chapel Hill on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. to complete the series.
Elon will then host a doubleheader against former Southern Conference rivals the University of North Carolina at Greensboro on Sunday, Oct. 18 at noon.
The Phoenix will travel to Raleigh for a Friday Night doubleheader against NC State on Oct. 23 at 5 p.m.
The team wraps up their schedule two days later on Sunday, Oct. 25 with a doubleheader against East Carolina at noon.
The in-state opposition offers Elon familiar opposition, as the Phoenix faced each of their fall opponents during their regular season last spring. The Phoenix defeated NC State 3-2 on March 4 and East Carolina 10-4 on March 18.
Elon split their two meetings with UNCG on March 15 and 25, and fell 12-4 to UNC on April 22.
