Video Music Award (VMA) nominations are in. And everybody’s quick to point fingers — or get in Twitter disputes.

After MTV announced the nominees in the running for the shiny Moonman, Twitter erupted, and not in a good way. Nicki Minaj, the “Anaconda” shaking sass queen, expressed her true feelings following the announcement. In a myriad of tweets, Minaj indicated that her record-breaking video, “Anaconda,” was just as worthy of a Video of the Year nomination as the other nominated videos. But soon enough, things got ugly.

Leave it to Taylor Swift to speak up. She isn’t known for being shy — remember her recent Apple debacle? Swift snapped back at Minaj, saying that it wasn’t cool to bring down other successful woman. However, this offended Minaj because she has always been vocal about her girl-power beliefs. Clearly, there was a bit of a misunderstanding between these two chart-toppers. Luckily, they kissed and made up. We will probably even see Minaj join Swift on stage when “Bad Blood”wins … oh, are we being too optimistic? We call it realistic.

To make things even more interesting, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars got involved. Yes, the two most laid back guys in the biz. Mars jokingly picked a fight with Sheeran, which led to a string of tweets involving cringe-worthy puns and eyebrow mockery. In this case, though, it was all fun and games.

And we thought the most talked about news would be that Miley Cyrus is hosting this year’s show? Our mistake.
