One Direction fans have not had a second to breathe in the last few months. From Zayn's dramatic departure to the recent news that Louis is going to be shopping for diapers in the near future, Directioners need a break. Well, according to Simon Cowell, that may be happening sooner than later. In a recent interview with "The Sun," Cowell noted that he hopes the 1D boys take a breather in the coming year.

"In terms of the band, they've got enough hits now they can take some time off and do some other stuff they want to do," Cowell said. "Then I hope they'll have a little bit of time apart and want to get back together again."

Evidently, "Uncle Si" has the boys' best interests at heart. In the same interview, Cowell said Zayn will no longer be signed to Syco (Simon's mega-hit label) following his exit from 1D. Zayn still has free reign to go to other Sony labels, but not one headed by Cowell.

"Well, because it was his decision to leave the group and we hadn't asked him to do it, I felt my main responsibility was to the band," Cowell said. "They didn't ask for it to happen either, and I did sign One Direction as a group."

Despite all this talk, the boys of One Direction are as hot as ever (and, honestly, getting hotter every day). They are filling stadiums across the U.S. on their sold-out tour and wrapping up their fifth album, expected to drop later this year. A break might be in their future, but luckily, we still have many more hair quiffs, song lyrics and dance moves to enjoy. Thank goodness.
