Brian Williams, who was suspended from “NBC Nightly News” for false reporting in February, has been given a second chance. The network confirmed that Williams will return to NBC later this summer, but there’s a catch.

Williams will no longer serve as the lead anchor of “Nightly News.” Lester Holt, who has been Williams’ fill in for the past four months, will take on the roll as lead anchor. So, where does that leave Williams?

Due to his patience and hard work, Williams has earned his second chance. After his suspension runs out in August, the former newscaster will return with a few new roles. According to CNN, he will continue to work with NBC and be an “anchor of breaking news and special reports,” and “serve as a breaking news anchor for NBC News live special reports when Holt is not available.”

"Brian Williams has been with NBC News for a very long time and he has covered countless news events with honor and skill. As I said in February, we believe in second chances, and I am hopeful that this new beginning will be good for Brian and the organization," said Steve Burke, CEO of NBCUniversal.
