The Phoenix kept their win streak going with its fourth straight victory on Saturday, Jan. 3, against Drexel University. The trip to Philadelphia also resulted in Elon’s first Colonial Athletic Association conference win. The final score was 77-67.

Freshman guard Elijah Bryant gave a career high performance in points scored with 32. Bryant shot 90 percent from the foul line, 75 percent from behind the arc and 50 percent from the field. In addition to his tremendous shooting performance, he led the team with seven rebounds. The freshman has been a force to be reckoned with throughout the team's four-game win streak, averaging 22.5 points per game.

Following Bryant, senior forward Ryan Winters, junior forward Tanner Samson and freshman forward Jack Anton contributed to the victory. Samson trailed only Bryant in points scored for Elon, with 12 of his own, all coming from three point shots. Winters and Anton combined for 10 rebounds and seven points.

Although only winning by ten points, Elon controlled the game, having the lead for just under 34 minutes. Most notably, the Phoenix bench contributed 47 of the team’s 77 points. Drexel’s bench only managed seven total points.

Overall, Elon had an above average performance across the board offensively. They shot 78 percent from the foul line, 55 percent from behind the arc and 47 percent from the field.

After nearly two months of non-conference play, Elon’s remaining 17 games are all CAA conference games. They will next tip-off in Towson, Maryland on Monday, Jan. 5 against Towson University.
