Elon Hillel has named a new director who will replace Nancy Luberoff in July. Rabbi Rebecca Joseph, who will also serve as an associate chaplain for Jewish life, is an ordained rabbi. Prior to coming to Elon, Rabbi Joseph worked with the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, as well as the Jewish Theological Seminary.
In the midst of national disasters like the attacks on September 11, Joseph volunteered as a spiritual care chaplain with the American Red Cross.
Joseph also founded 12 Tribes Kosher Foods, an organic catering company that focuses on educating others on kosher practices and components of the tradition.
As director, Joseph will oversee the Sklut Hillel Center, service trips, and other community-building events around campus.
