The Elon Women's Soccer team returned to Rudd Field on Friday, Sept. 20 for a match up against Liberty University.

Both defenses dominated in the beginning of the game, until the forty-first minute, when Rachel Driver put the Phoenix on the board with a header. It was the first goal allowed by Liberty Goalie Holly Van Nord in 670 minutes, nearly 8 games.

After going into halftime with a slim lead, Forward Marissa Russo struck the ball over Van Nord's head. Nicole Dennion earned the assist, her fifteenth point of the season. Kate Murphy was once again credited with a clean sheet to give the Phoenix their fifth win of the season. The final score of the game was 2-0.
