Elon town police are still searching for three men who robbed an Elon University student at gunpoint in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Trollinger Avenue Feb. 1, but descriptions of three male suspects are available.

A spokeswoman for the Elon Police Department said one suspect was caught on a surveillance tape at a nearby gas station while attempting to use the student’s credit card.

She described the suspect as a black male around 6 feet 4 inches tall with a thin build. He was seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.

The victim described the other two suspects to the police. He said one appeared to be 5 feet 7 inches tall, also with a small build. He was wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt when the crime occurred. He described the other suspect as a black male around 5 feet 9 inches tall. He also wore a dark hooded sweatshirt.

According to the police, the victim explained he did not try to fight back against the robbers because his bank account only contained $10.50.
